Jumping between New York and London as background settings, it is magically crafted and a thorough pleasure to read.Ryder's beloved grandfather is the Duke of Fairfax. Due to some stodgy old laws, despite being the best choice and of direct lineage he will not inherent when his grandfather passes away due to his unmarried status. This has never been a bother to him until he learns of a small misstep with epically horrible consequences should he NOT inherit the title. He needs a wife and he needs one now. But he doesn't want to settle down OR break anyone's heart - he needs this to be a business arrangement.
Scarlett is divorced and forging her own way in life now. With her business partner by her side they have a tough decision ahead of them. Sell out their business to repay the loans and make a huge profit from it or risk going under in order to retain ownership and decision making rights. When a business proposition from the one man that has the power to save or sink her company has her wondering if he is certifiable for asking and if she is for considering his "proposal" all bets are off when she says yes.
I love this story so hard. Ryder was amazing - he didn't know what he was missing staying single and separate from any woman in his life until he met Scarlett - The wedding was a bonus that forced him to spend the time to realize what he truly wanted. Scarlett had to let go of her past pain and issues from her first marriage in order to truly feel settled with Ryder. It was a wonderful, and sometimes painful, journey for the both of them and as for myself as the reader. Enjoy!

I have enjoyed many books by this author but this one is my favorite (so far).
The story is about Scarlett who moved to NYC after her divorce two years prior and playboy/rich boy, Ryder, who is an extremely successful business man in Manhatten. Both find themselves in need of help to save their respective businesses. Ryder formulates a plan that will work for both of them. That is a very high level, non-spoilery,description.
I am a huge lover of the billionaire meets normal girl trope. This novel also includes the fake marriage trope which personally, I can take or leave normally. Honestly, this book doesn't have any big twists and is fairly predictable. For me though, what made me love it, is this author's ability to build out her characters and settings. I absolutely loved both Scarlett and Ryder. I also thought their chemistry was off the charts. I was really rooting for them.
I would recommend this book if you enjoy the above tropes, don't mind predictability and appreciate solid writing with fleshed out characters and settings.
Well Louise Bay has done it again. I loved Duke of Manhattan. It was sexy, funny, emotional and made me tear up at times too.
Ryder and Scarlett meet in a bar and it's only supposed to be one night. He's a player anyway and looking for a distraction from his jetlag and Scarlett's trying to get back in the saddle, or on the man again for the first time after her divorce.
It was a night that shook their worlds and that should have been it until they see each other across the boardroom table.
Then everything starts to come out and Ryder decides to play on the fact the attraction between them is strong and the sex amazing, plus he can help Scarlett as she in turn helps him.
The story was great. I enjoyed catching up with characters from previous books and the the chemistry between Ryder and Scarlett is off the charts. I loved her and he was incredibly sexy and gorgeous. Another great read by this author.

NEVER getting attached! yet, once our "H" also known as 'the Duke of Manhattan" (yet in Britton he is next in line to be "The Duke of Fairfax" ... yet their is a catch, the rules say .. "IF I AM MARRIED" 'married". SO, he gets a hairbrain idea.. 'he needs to get a wife, surly he can buy one? little did Ryder know, his last one night stand, "h" Scarlett King" who is nursing her wounds from her 1st husband who just left her... then to make matters worse, she owns a buisness with her friend, that is in trouble financially.. so, she meets a stranger in a bar.. hook up, what a connection. yet, that was the last she figured they would see of one another! little did she know, Ryder Westbury gets what he wants, and he wants 'Scarlett' they both can benefit from this little plan! what he doesnt count on... can 'Ms King, be the one woman to bring this Duke to his knees?? and can the Duke help Scarlett get past the scared woman and find 'love?' what a steamy hot, full of drama, excitement, sexy as he**l sex scenes, dirty talking Ryder.. and a lot more....
